Snowjam: Researchers to study Jan. 28 winter weather

By Associated Engineering Press

Where were you January 28th, 2014? Were you stuck in your car for 20 hours on I-285? Were you desperately trying to get your kids home from school? What did you know when?

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) is partnering with the University of Alabama to better understand the public’s perception of events leading up to the storm frequently called “Snowjam.”

The survey takes 15-30 minutes to complete and is based on your experiences during the storm.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
