Foley hires new city engineer from Tuscaloosa

FOLEY,  Alabama — Foley recently welcomed Chad Christian to the position of city engineer.

Christian came to Foley from the city of Tuscaloosa, where he worked for 15 years as drainage engineer.

Christian takes the position held by Butch Stokes who served as city engineer from September 2007 until his retirement in May.

Christian earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Alabama in 1996, and is a licensed professional engineer in Alabama.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
