UA signs a partnership agreement with NASA

By Associated Engineering Press

We have lift off in Tuscaloosa.

Not of a spaceship, but a partnership between NASA and the University of Alabama.

That’s big news for engineering students like Ebony Kelley.

“Like, I had a moment. When I found out about it, I was really, really excited because I never thought I’d be able to talk to representatives from the company,” Kelley said.

The freshman was one dozens of students there when school and NASA officials signed an agreement allowing 20 to 30 students to work on a NASA project. Sources: WBRC Fox 6WVUA 23The Crimson WhiteMade in Alabama

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
