Local residents Engle, Johnson to participate in summer job program

Adam Engle of Decatur and Ethan Johnson of Hartselle will receive hands-on educational experience this summer through the University of Alabama’s Cooperative Education Program.

— Nearly 250 University of Alabama students are receiving hands-on educational experience with dozens of companies and organizations across the United States through UA’s Cooperative Education Program for summer 2018. Among the students:

In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student, experience that enhances the students’ employment prospects after graduation. In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
