Ben Fischer, University of Alabama: “We scratch build all of it. Some of us design. Like, I like to design my own frames, so we design it out. Get it milled out of carbon fiber and put it all together with electronics.” Kelly Kennedy, Eyewitness News: “Right behind me is the obstacle course for the drone flying competition. The goal is to fly through the course as many times as possible in two minutes.”

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
