THE EDGE: Bryant Mathis Encourages Connections with Locality App

By Associated Engineering Press

Bryant Mathis, a UA senior majoring in metallurgical engineering, visited the WVUA 23 studio to talk about his experience-based connection app, Locality. Founded in 2019 by four UA students, Locality matches users with others in shared groups who want to do the same thing at the same time. Whether it is students who are looking for a group to study with or young professionals looking for friends at the bar, Locality is a quick, direct way to get together. Locality is currently in development, with plans to launch on The University of Alabama’s campus in fall 2019.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
