Dr. Ramana Reddy
Dr. Ramana Reddy, ACIPCO endowed professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, has received the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers Honorary Membership Award.
This pinnacle award is one of the highest honors that the institute grants an individual. “This award recognizes outstanding service or distinguished scientific or engineering achievement in the fields embracing the activities of AIME and its Member Societies,” according to the organization.
“I am very honored and humbled to receive this AIME Honorary Membership Award. TMS AIME is one of the most vibrant materials societies in the world,” Reddy said. “TMS has played a significant role in my professional growth and has provided opportunities to develop contacts with scientists and engineering professionals worldwide.”
Reddy was recognized for his fundamental contributions in phase equilibria and thermodynamics, distinguished achievements in the advancement of metallurgical engineering, service to TMS, and global leadership in the field of materials science and engineering throughout his lifetime.
Reddy has been a devoted researcher and educator for more than four decades. He is a member of multiple professional societies and has published an abundance of research literature.
His research focuses on materials manufacturing, extraction, thermodynamics, fuel cells, ionic liquids and thermal energy storage materials.
