Tickets start Monday on three new camera-monitored intersections

By Associated Engineering Press

Starting Monday, tickets will be issued for red-light violations captured by cameras at three new intersections across the city… Steven L. Jones Jr., an associate professor in the University of Alabama’s Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering and a member of the University Transportation Center for Alabama, a research center housed at UA, recently completed work on a red-light camera implementation manual for the Alabama Department of Transportation.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
