Five things to do in Tuscaloosa this weekend

By Associated Engineering Press

No. 5: The University of Alabama’s College of Engineering Does Amateur Radical Theatre will present “Theatre Roulette” on Sunday. The show includes 13 student-written plays. The plays are put into a hat and when a play is drawn, it is performed and then put back into the hat. The show ends when all the plays have been performed once. But if a play is selected multiple time, it’s modified in one way or another, such as the characters become pirates or the actors have to condense their lines into one word. “Theatre Roulette” will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ferguson Center, 751 Campus Drive. Tickets cost $5 and will be available at the door. For more information, go to www.ua.edu/events/event/123046.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
