
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama recently selected 12 students as ambassadors for the 2015-2016 Cooperative Education Program and Professional Practice Program.
Co-op is an academic program in which students can earn money and gain career skills by alternating semesters of full-time studies with semesters of full-time work. Students selected to serve as Co-op ambassadors are responsible for representing the program during student and organizational meetings, class presentations and campus events. Students are eligible to become ambassadors after completing two semesters as a co-op student and must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
The following students were selected as 2015-2016 ambassadors:
- Katherine Baggett, a junior in chemical engineering from Brewton, Alabama. She completed three work semesters with Georgia-Pacific in Brewton.
- Irwin Corpuz, a senior in civil and construction engineering from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He completed three work semesters with Hoar Construction in Birmingham, Alabama.
- Nicholas Corzo, a senior in chemical engineering from New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed three work semesters with Ascend Materials in Pensacola, Florida.
- Tim Crenshaw, a senior in electrical engineering and mathematics from Birmingham. He completed three work semesters with Alabama Power in Birmingham.
- Neil Devin, a senior in mechanical engineering from College Station, Texas. He has completed four work semesters with Chevron in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
- Kasey Garrick, a senior in chemical engineering from Jackson, Alabama. He has completed three work semesters with Sabic Innovative Plastics in Burkesville, Alabama.
- Glenda Harris, a senior in chemical engineering from Mobile, Alabama. She completed three work semesters with Meadwestvaco in Cottonton, Alabama.
- Alex Henderson, a senior in chemical engineering from Alabaster, Alabama. He completed three work semesters with International Paper in Selma, Alabama.
- Andriana Mickens is a senior majoring in Civil Engineering from Homewood, Illinois. She completed three work semesters with Brasfield & Gorrie in Birmingham.
- George Parker, a senior in mechanical engineering from Huntsville, Alabama. He completed three work semesters with US Steel in Fairfield, Alabama.
- Ben Thrasher, a senior in mechanical engineering from Hoover, Alabama. He completed three work semesters with Mercedes Benz U.S. International in Vance, Alabama.
- Dylan Zoll, a senior in chemical engineering from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He completed three work semesters with Ascend Materials in Pensacola.
