Twelfth China-US Engineering Technology Symposium Green City Group Symposium Successfully Held in Beijing

May 14, hosted by National Bureau of Foreign Experts, Beijing Municipal People’s Government, and China Institute of Engineers (CIE) … Prof. Dr. Robert Pitt, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Environment Studies, School of Engineering, University of Alabama, United States, presented a special report entitled “Green Cities: Beijing Water Resources-Beneficial Uses of Stormwater”. In combination with the characteristics of rainfall in Beijing, he systematically proposed suggestions for the management of rainwater resources in Beijing.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
