The UA OSHA Training Institute Education Center housed within UA Safe State hosted the inaugural training session in the newly renovated Facility for Outreach, Research, Training, and Education (FORTE) building, marking a major milestone in its commitment to hands-on safety education. Formerly known as the Tuscaloosa Music Building, FORTE now features two state-of-the-art classrooms designed to enhance learning opportunities on campus and beyond.

Tintronics is a veteran owned and operated small business located in Huntsville, Alabama, employing 82 workers. It provides specialty electronic products to its clients in the industrial, scientific, and defense industry. Its products and services include hot tin dipping, precision lead forming, BGA reballing, and tape and reel packaging. Tintronics began working with the University of Alabama Safe State Consultation Program in 2007. Alabama Consultation performed safety and industrial hygiene consultations, and its consultants assisted the company with developing a safety and health management program.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,800 students and more than 150 faculty.
