An Environmentally Friendly Muscle Car

By Associated Engineering Press

Environmentalists, start your engines? When you think about the Camaro, the term “muscle car” comes to mind… A team at the University of Alabama has lept forward in the process. This four-year competition has seen them finish eighth nationally in their first year and then vaulting to fourth overall after the second year of the competition. Now they’re ramping up to try and do even better in Year 3, now at roughly the halfway point in the competition.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
