UA College of Engineering uses drones to analyze damage at JSU

Drones have become a popular item and now the University of Alabama’s engineering department has found a new way to put them to use. The UA’s Remote Sensing Center used its drones to help Jacksonville state university assess damage to campus buildings after they were hit by a tornado last week now that JSU has what they need to analyze the damage from the tornado, they can proceed with repairs to the buildings that were damaged. In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,200 students and more than 170 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
