Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame to Hold 2013 Ceremony    /  UA News

After Winning National Award, UA Women Engineers to Host Conference    /  UA News

The University of Alabama chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, or SWE, was awarded the gold level Outstanding Collegiate Society Award at the SWE National Conference in Houston, Texas, and it won the bid to host its regional conference in 2014 on campus.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,800 students and more than 150 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
