UA Key in Multi-Institute Exploratory Research Project Investigating Tuscaloosa Tornado Damage    /  UA News

A UA research team has received a National Science Foundation Rapid Response Grant for Exploratory Research to investigate and gather data about the damage to, and performance of, woodframe structures in the affected areas due to strong winds.

UA Engineering Appoints Back as Director of Construction Engineering Program    /  UA News

The University of Alabama College of Engineering recently named Dr. W. Edward Back director of the Construction Engineering Program.

In 1837, The University of Alabama became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, UA’s College of Engineering has more than 5,800 students and more than 150 faculty. In recent years, students in the College have been named USA Today All-USA College Academic Team members, Goldwater, Hollings, Portz, Boren, Mitchell and Truman scholars.
